Common Questions & Inquiries

Please take a moment to read the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions, listed below. If you have additional questions, please reach out for help.

How can I determine which type of treatment is right for me?

Following a confidential assessment, our experts will identify the most appropriate type of treatment and make a referral to the program that is determined to be the best fit. We work together with our patients and their families to encourage the best possible outcome and ongoing plan for success. Visit our Admissions page for additional information.

How can I determine which type of treatment is right for me?

The length of time a patient is in treatment can vary based on diagnosis, personal dynamics and other factors. See our Programs page for more information on program components.

Is this confidential?

Absolutely. Rigorously enforced laws of confidentiality help protect your right to privacy. We cannot confirm or deny your presence in our facility without your written permission.

If I have a problem on a weekend or in the evening, how do I contact Peachford?

Peachford is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Counselors are available to assist you with your questions any time of the day or night. Appointments can be made for the same day, and we also accept walk-in appointments. Please call 770-455-3200 anytime.

Who can refer someone to Peachford?

We welcome referrals by medical or mental health caregivers, case managers, employee assistance programs, family members, community agencies, school counselors, hospitals, clergy, friends and patients themselves. If you would like further information, call our assessment and referral counselors at 770-455-3200. If you’re a referring medical professional, you can also use our Professional Referrals Form.

Will my insurance company pay for treatment at Peachford Hospital?

We are an approved provider for most major insurance companies and managed care plans, but you can call us at 770-455-3200 to determine if Peachford accepts your insurance plan and the level of coverage. Peachford works closely with patients, their families, agency representatives, insurance companies, employee assistance programs (EAP) and managed care providers to determine all possible payment options. In addition, Peachford will accept direct payment of fees for individuals who do not have or do not want to use their insurance. Visit our Insurance Information page for more details.

What can I expect when receiving treatment at Peachford Hospital?

Our patients will live on a unit with other patients who may have experienced similar symptoms or situations to those that brought them into the hospital. We utilize group therapy to assist and encourage patients to interact with others to share issues and to aid in stabilizing the symptoms that lead to hospitalization.

Seven days a week, 24 hours a day, we provide assessments and nursing care to monitor response to medications, detox symptoms, and any other medical factors that require attention during the stabilization of your mental health. Visit our Admissions page for more information on the assessment process.

Family involvement is highly encouraged. Through education, we help our patients’ loved ones understand what leads to a crisis, teach them how to develop a crisis plan and show them what the next step in treatment will be. Because family involvement is so valuable in a patient’s recovery, Peachford offers parenting classes in addition to family therapy sessions.

Discharge from the hospital is not the end of treatment but the beginning of the patient’s recovery journey. Treatment may also continue at other levels of care, such as a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or through outpatient therapy.

What do the units look like?

You can view photos throughout our website, and our virtual tour will take you through the entire facility.

What are the visiting hours?

Visiting hours vary by unit and can be found on our Visitors page. Our first priority is the safety of our patients and guests, so we ask that visitors keep personal items with them at all times. For safety, sanitation and dietary management purposes, visitors are asked not to bring food items into the facility.
