Peachford’s Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is an outpatient program designed specifically to meet the unique needs of teens ages 13 to 18 experiencing psychiatric symptoms or substance abuse problems. It offers a unique level of care for patients who don’t need 24-hour care but require more therapy than a typical visit with an outpatient provider. IOP allows teens and their families to maintain a regular school schedule and live at home, while receiving complete treatment services for psychiatric or substance abuse problems. It is often recommended to adolescents recently released from our Adolescent Acute Inpatient or Partial Hospitalization programs, depending on needs or progress.
Adolescent IOP is offered Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is based on our level system of therapeutic progress. The program is mainly comprised of group therapy and creative expression that helps teens work through the various issues that cause emotional distress while developing new coping skills that can be used at home. Our compassionate treatment team is comprised of psychiatrists licensed counselors, social workers and registered nurses who work with patients individually to meet their treatment goals.
