Comprehensive Outpatient Care for Teens
Peachford’s Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is an outpatient program designed specifically to meet the unique needs of teens ages 13 to 18 experiencing psychiatric symptoms or substance abuse problems. These issues impair their daily functioning at home or at school. PHP offers counseling and therapy during the day but allows patients to return home during the evenings. It offers a unique level of care for patients who don’t need 24-hour care but require more therapy than a typical outpatient visit. It is often recommended to adolescents recently released from our Adolescent Acute Inpatient Program.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Adolescent PHP is offered Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is based on our level system of therapeutic progress. The program is mainly comprised of group therapy and creative expression that helps teens work through the various issues that cause emotional distress while developing new coping skills that can be used at home. Our compassionate treatment team is comprised of psychiatrists licensed counselors, social workers and registered nurses who work with patients individually to meet their treatment goals.
Teens are also involved in academic studies so that they do not fall behind in school. We’ll work with local districts as necessary to make sure students stay on track as they receive care.
Family involvement is an integral part of the treatment process and can help reduce relapse as the family members become actively involved in the therapeutic process. Resources like our Parenting Classes educate and support parents walking through this process with their child.
